History:
After graduating from Hogwarts, Amber attended a Muggle University near London. One summer she needed a ride home to her family in Bath, and, on the train she sat next to a man who introduced himself as Jeffrey Callahan. They began a conversation and Amber learned that Jeffrey - who went to the same university she attended - needed a place to go for the summer. She offered to let him stay at her family's house until he could find a place to spend the rest of the holiday.
He was supposed to get a house in early July but a fire destroyed the house and they didn't want to rebuild it until it got a little cooler (it was hot early that year). Consequently, Jeffrey ended up spending the entire summer at Amber's parents' home. Jeffrey proposed to Amber just before they went back to the university and they were married on Christmas day of that year.
Not until their first son, Aaron, accidentally exploded a five-hundred dollar vase while wrestling his football away from his dog did Amber tell Jeffrey that she was a witch. (There wasn't any other explanation; seven-year-old Aaron had been ten feet away.) Jeffrey pretended like he'd been a little suspicious all along, but really he was amazed and didn't exactly know what to think about it all. The next four years were pretty normal, except for the fact that a screwdriver repairing a cabinet on its own was not an uncommon sight. (Jeffrey got used to things like that in time.) When Aaron was eleven he got his Hogwarts letter. Jeffrey was glad - he was happy that his son would finally be able to do something besides blowing stuff up when he got exasperated or angry. As for Amber, was just worried about the cost of supplies. Eventually the Callahans decided that they'd have to cancel the vacation they were planning for the next summer and use that money to pay for Aaron's first-year supplies.
Aaron himself was relieved, because he'd secretly thought that he didn't have enough magic in him to do anything "real" - and he was tired of accidentally destroying things.

Appearance
Skin: Not excessively pale, but never tanning. Freckles easily, but doesn't have a ton of freckles.
Hair: Thick. Blonde as a small child, his hair has darkened a little to the not-quite-blonde, not-quite-brown stage. Worn in a "bowl cut", about to his ears.
Eyes: Vibrant blue ("blue enough that you can tell it's blue from the distance"). Eyelashes aren't very thick or long, just slightly darker than his hair. Thin eyebrows, brown - surprising on first sight, since his eyebrows are considerably darker than his hair.
Face: Round with a rather pointy chin.
Height: 4'7".
Body Type: Skinny.
How do you dress? Like most eleven-year-old boys, he doesn't really care. He generally just wears what his mother provides him, but he does like to be comfortable.
How do you present yourself? (What is the initial reaction of most people on meeting you?) He's crazy and "out there", and can make friends with any boys the day he meets him - but has a little more trouble with girls.
Personality
General (give us a few paragraphs on your everyday temperament)
Aaron thinks that homework should be banned by law - but does it anyway. Despite his bad attitude, he gets excellent grades - especially with anything that can be used in combat, but isn't as good at Herbology and other "quiet" classes. He makes friends easily with other boys, but is a little more reserved around girls. Mostly he just looks at girls and what they talk about and doesn't think they'd be as fun as boys (no, he isn't interested in girls yet).
Generally, Aaron is "out there" and adventurous - and just a little bit selfish. He tends to take the biggest slice, unless he's thinking about it (and in that case, he takes the second biggest slice!).
What makes you sad? What are you like when you are sad? When he's sad, he doesn't really talk a lot, just sits looking at photos and thinking a lot. Aaron normally gets sad when something bad happens - then he starts wishing he was at home.
What makes you angry? What are you like when you are angry? When angry, Aaron generally shuts himself into a room and practices difficult spells to clear his mind. Aaron is made angry when he's humiliated by others - it's ok to do crazy things that are a little self-humiliating, but he doesn't like it when others make him look bad.
What makes you happy? What are you like when you are happy? When happy, he's pretty normal - you can't really tell that he's happy, but he doesn't seem at all sad or angry.
What are you like when you are hyper? When he's hyper, he starts smiling and laughing when anyone says anything remotely funny.
Are you outgoing, shy, somewhere between? Mostly outgoing.
Do you make friends easily? Yes, especially with other boys.
How smart are you? Above average, although he doesn't do so well at quiet classes like Herbology.
How important is it to you to follow the rules? Important - unless breaking the rules means he can have a lot of fun!
Likes/Dislikes
What are your hobbies or interests? What do you do in your free time? Besides accidentally blowing things up, he likes reading, which gives him ideas for his crazy stunts. He also likes Quidditch, though he always has to borrow someone's broom.
What kind of people do you like to be around? What are the kinds of people you can't stand? Strait laced people who feel like they have to obey every single letter of the law and can't tweak the rules at all. He doesn't like people that torture animals for fun, either, because he really loves animals.
What is your favorite color? Is there a color you really hate? Favorite - turquoise, hates - pale pink (way too girly!).
Strengths/Weaknesses
Classes?
STRONG IN: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms - classes that teach you stuff you can USE.
WEAK IN: Herbology, potions, classes that don't have a lot to do with personal defense.
Talents? Very fast learner if he feels like he can get something out of what he's learning.

Selfishness - he will always try to save the best for himself (or get it first)

~BEING SORTED~
"Bunter, Daniel," Professor McGonagall said loudly. Daniel Bunter walked up to a three-legged stool and sat down. McGonagall placed the tattered Sorting Hat on top of Daniel's head - the hat wiggled a little, and then settled down.
A wide rip in its brim opened up and shouted "HUFFLEPUFF!"
Aaron clapped with the others as Daniel Bunter walked over one of the four large student tables.
Professor McGonagall glanced at her list of students again and then said - "Callahan, Aaron!"
Aaron nervously stepped up to the stool and sat down. Professor McGonagall moved forward – even her steps were stern, thought Aaron, for he had heard rumors about McGonagall’s strict teaching – and placed the tattered Hat on his head.
Hmm, said a small voice inside his head. Aaron started, realizing the voice came from the Sorting Hat itself. You’ve got a lot of recklessness, but you’re also pretty brainy. I’d say you’re a Gryffindor…or a Ravenclaw.
I don’t know that much about either, Aaron thought back, Except that my mom was in Ravenclaw and she said her stay at Hogwarts was excellent.
Well then, said the Hat, Based on that, I’ll say…
“RAVENCLAW!”
Aaron took off the Hat and a thunderous cheering erupted as almost everyone in the Great Hall started clapping – the people at the blue-and-bronze table, loudest of all. He handed McGonagall the Hat and took his seat at the proper table between two older Ravenclaw girls.
I wonder when the food comes, Aaron thought. He expected to like Hogwarts.

Okay, Sara, this one is Jason's...I helped with it, so I'm rather biased. For the record, I didn't do any of the ideas (just the typing and some sentence structure advice now and then). I think it's wonderful, but you get the final say on this one. He's very excited to see if he gets in or not...we worked on it a good part of the afternoon.

I think it's GREAT! Very truly well done.
And I'm glad that the hat said he should be in Gryffindor. As I was reading the app I was going 'erm...he's got GRYFFINDOR in neon on his forehead. So why's he in Ravenclaw?' but I do see that he's brainy and his mom was a Ravenclaw, two perfectly valid reasons. Plus it should spice up the Ravenclaws a little. Doesn't seem right that they get ONLY die-hard intellectuals.
