Breakfast at Gryffindor table
Kenneth approached the Gryffindor table, and, seeing no one in particular he wanted to socialize with, he moved toward the end of the table and sat down. There weren't many people in the hall besides him, Kenneth observed as he served himself some scrambled eggs.
"Hey, Kenneth!"
A girl Kenneth recognized as Jessica Davis slid onto the bench across from him at the Gryffindor table.
"Hi, Jessica," Kenneth replied, looking up from cutting a piece of bacon into tiny pieces.
Jessica promply began serving herself some food. "So how are you? I didn't see you at the Opening Feast."
"Maybe you were at the other end of the table or something. I also left kind of fast," Kenneth said, sprinkling his bacon into his eggs.
Jessica talked around a bite of waffles. "Why?"
"Everything was loud and busy, and I wanted to escape to my dorms and read," Kenneth answered.
"Oh."
Kenneth started on his eggs. Jessica waited for a moment, watching him, then proceeded to smothered her toast with butter.
Rochelle entered the Great Hall smiling and waving at everyone nearby, though few had any idea who she was. She made her way over to the Gryffindor table and sat down exactly in the middle. She bit into some French Toast (This is SO not French... she thought.) and waited patiently for more interesting people to show up at the table....

"Thank you!" she said, eagerly snatching the paper from her hands. "By the way, you have something on the hem of your robes....looks sorta like some pulp from orange juice....anyways, I like your hair at that length, its quite becoming with your face shape. Oh, and since your Head Girl, can you make sure the Quidditch fields don't get double booked again? I can't evaluate player stats with all that arguing. And what do you think about having a set time for how long parties are aloud to last in the common rooms, because I just can't concentrate on my own thoughts with all the noise and such. Do you think a dress code should be established? I think we should hold an official debate about it. Oh! Would you mind telling Carina at the Ravenclaw table to send me an owl tonight? She's sort of like my source of Ravenclaw information. Thanks! Oh look at the time, I have to get ready to be ready for class, I'll see you later!"
Rochelle grabbed her last bite of French toast and walked briskly out of the Great Hall.
Trying Not To Be Late!!
Aralyn Lansford, usually very composed, was late getting to breakfast that morning. She ran into the hall as students were heading to class, trying to stuff books into her backpack, and grab a peice of toast in a rush before heading out the door again. She looked around, wondering what she was doing. "Oh my gosh, I don't have my schedual!" she dashed back in the hall, and grabbed hers out of the hands of a startled-looking James Potter before dashing out agian.
She looked at her schedual...and groaned very vocally. Potions....oh no.... Potions was her worst subject, besides History of Magic. Which she looked to find that she had that right after Potions. I have a feeling "A" Days aren't going to be that splendid...

Re: Trying Not To Be Late!!
Potter and Evans stopped by at intervals with schedules. Soon everyone had theirs and their fill of breakfast and made their way to class.
James was a little irritated with Sirius' friend Aralyn for not making an appearance, but was relieved of the worry when she grabbed her schedule from him on her way to class.

Over at the other end...
Kenneth took his last bite of eggs and checked his watch. It was time to go find the Potions class. Over the years he had learned to give himself a lot more time to get to his classes than he would expect.
"Okay, see you at Potions, Jessica," he said, standing up.
The girl across from him quickly took her last two bites and stood up, too.
