Breakfast with the Ravenclaws
Marti slipped silently into the Great Hall, unnoticed by the chattering hordes of her peers. She sat at her normal seat at the end of the Ravenclaw table and briskly buttered her toast and poured herself a glass of orange juice. Chewing solemnly, her blue eyes trailed around the Hall. Where's Brandon?

Brandon walked quickly into the Great Hall and took a seat across the table and two down from his cousin. Still angry with himself for oversleeping, he dished himself a bowl of oatmeal in stony silence.

Marti carefully regarded Bran, and knowing him well enough to know when he was in a bad mood (or a worse one than usual), she didn't say anything to him. Although, it was bemusing to wonder if he had overslept...it seemed far too human a thing to do to think of Bran doing it.

Aaron dragged himself over to the Ravenclaw table and plomped down on his seat. He grabbed a plate and started dishing up some toast. He carefully regarded the person across from him, thinking that it must be a fifth- or sixth-year. He was a smallish boy with white-blonde hair and deep blue eyes, and he didn't look in the best of moods.
"Hi," Aaron said. "Do you know what exactly I'm supposed to do around here?"

Marti smothered a smile from behind her toast and waited to see if Bran would deign to answer. Poor kid, he doesn't even know what he's getting into. I might have to rescue him from Brandon. But not until he needs rescuing.

Brandon's scowl deepened. He did not need irritating chatter from a too-wide-awake first year this early in the morning.
"Do?" Bran asked coldly. "No, I do not know what you are supposed to do. I suppose you're new?"

Marti's glass clinked dully against the table as she get it down. "You should know...whatever your name is...that Brandon is not someone you particularly want to ask for anything." She looked at the first year unsmilingly, but not unkindly; it had felt good to dig at Bran, even if he wouldn't care. "Classes start at eight o'clock. Lily Evans and James Potter, the Head Girl and Boy - the girl has long red hair and the boy messy black hair - should come around and pass out schedules. Really," she frowned and glanced at her watch, "they should have come by already."

carina finnaly arrives, no longer waiting for mari...
Carina ran top speed toward the Ravenclaw table where she found most of them had already finished eating and began to socialize. Heads turned as she came to a screeching halt next to the table, knocking over a glass of orange juice.
"Sorry, I know, I'm late. Oh, and sorry about that too." she said cleaning up the OJ spill with a wave of her wand.
Lily gave her a disapproving look for using her wand at breakfast, and handed her a schedule.
Carina...
Carina stared at her schedule as she slowly spread jelly on her toast. Her cat Codswallop jumped up next to her. He was sporting a red flowered bandanna similar to the one in Carina's hair. She absentmindedly pet him while thinking to herself......Man, none of my favorite subjects are today! *YAWN*, at least I got that Transfiguration essay done last night, *YAWN* maybe I should find some time for a nap later....
"Whoops!" she came back to earth as she realized almost the entire jar of jelly was sitting on her nowhere-to-be-seen toast.
Her cat lapped up the bit that had dripped on the floor, and continued searching under the table for munchies.

Potter and Evans stopped by at intervals with schedules. Soon everyone had theirs and their fill of breakfast and made their way to class.
