Cecelia is the youngest of two children; she has a brother four years older. Her parents, both Muggles, divorced when she was ten and she hasn’t heard a lot from her mother since, just cards and the occasional phone call. It hasn’t been a big deal for her though, she just deals with it and moves on with life. She and her dad have a strong relationship and she’s really happy that he got remarried last month. Cecelia is looking forward to getting to know her new stepfamily.
She attended Hogwarts, where her exceptional grades brought her recognition from the MEA, Magical Educators’ Academy. Cecelia has worked very hard for the last eight years, absorbing as much knowledge as she could. She completed her M ME-P (Masters in Magical Education – Potions) only this June. Her own former Potions teacher suggested her as his replacement to Headmaster Dumbledore.

Appearence
Skin: Lightly tanned with liberally freckled cheeks and arms.
Hair: dark red, straight, maybe 6 inches past her shoulders. Usually wears it half-up with a clip.
Eyes: big & dark brown, expressive eyebrows, long eyelashes
Face: small nose, round chin, broad forehead, sweet-lipped, apples of her cheeks are round and well defined

Body Type: slightly pudgy
How do you dress? Cecelia’s outfits are always very well put together: perfectly matched, rather dressy
How do you present yourself? She’s not good around people and can seem rather cross, but she’s really only nervous. Once you get to know her she’s very sweet. Lia is kind of pretty, but you kind of have to look at her for a minute to decide that she is.
Personality
What are you like day to day? Cecelia is sweet, intelligent and fun-loving, but she has a tendency to tense up in unfamiliar situations.
What makes you sad? What are you like when you are sad? Well, sad things make Cecelia sad…but she also gets sad when she feels like she’s not doing a good job at what she’s trying to do. She’ll sit and mope and sometimes cry until she talks herself out of being upset. If she can talk out her feelings with a friend it passes much faster.
What makes you angry? What are you like when you are angry? When she doesn’t feel like she’s being respected, or stepped on, Cecelia gets flustered and snappy, but if it goes past that point she’s likely to yell. After she’s through yelling she generally needs to sit down and cry to let off steam.
What makes you happy? What are you like when you are happy? Lots of things make Cecelia happy, anything from a surprise party to the weather turning out like she wants it. She wears a sunny smile and likes to goof around when she’s happy.
What are you like when you are hyper, or excited? Cecelia is only hyper when she’s very, very comfortable with the people she’s around, like her family. She’ll laugh at tiny things and crack jokes left and right, and can’t sit still.
Are you outgoing, shy, somewhere between? Cecelia is pretty much in between, it depends on who she’s around. If she’s in an unfamiliar spot, she’s extremely shy, but with close friends she’d walk up to a stranger and start conversation.
Do you make friends easily? Once she gets over her shyness, Cecelia proves herself a neat person to be around, so yes. She is extremely loyal to her friends, even to protectiveness over her closest ones.
How smart are you? Cecelia is, on a 1-10 scale, 10 being genius, probably a 7. Not brilliant, but still above-average, except in Potions.
How important is it to you to follow the rules? As a child, Cecelia followed the rules largely because she didn’t want to bother with breaking them, though she’d get the occasional wild streak and do something reckless. As far as her students though, she’ll let them slide a little but won’t hesitate to do something about it if they get too far out of line.
What makes you different, original, special, unique? Cecelia has a slightly Scottish accent from going to school there for a few years. She is very fun-loving and sweet.
Likes/Dislikes
What are your hobbies or interests? What do you do in your free time? Cecelia actually has a weakness for crochet. She also loves books, and hates that she doesn’t have four hands to that she can do both at once. She also likes going for walks and playing in the rain, and watching romantic comedies and listening to music and playing on the computer.
What kind of people do you like to be around? What are the kinds of people you can't stand? Cecelia likes being around people that let her be herself and encourage her to be more outgoing and have fun and are supportive, but she can’t stand people who look down on others and think they are better.
Strengths/Weaknesses
Subjects? Cecelia is brilliant at Potions, gifted really. But she hasn’t the patience for history and divination and the like.
Talents? Crochet and reading aloud, and making people laugh
Personality Flaws? Shyness, not good at handling anger, self-critical
Anything else you can think of? Cecelia is uncomfortable around her male peers because she doesn’t feel like she would have anything worth hearing to say to them.
Writing Sample
Write a lesson plan for your class, not what happens during class, but a /lesson plan/, and what your thoughts, feelings, and actions are when you first come back to Hogwarts for new term, prior to students' arrival.

Cecelia flipped through her notes. Again. She’d been preparing eight years for this; now she wasn’t so sure she could. She shook her head and frowned, Snap out of it, Professor Herring, come on, how bad can it be? She shuddered. Not a good question to ask. With a sigh she glanced around her classroom, but that didn’t make her feel any better either. All of it was dim, cold, and grey. I can’t work in these conditions…
With a determined expression she snapped her notebook shut and stood. She retrieved from her personal rooms the two boxes of knickknacks she’d had at the Academy. Several candles, some plants, and lots of potion ingredients later, Cecelia was smiling and feeling uplifted. The change from worrying to making things habitable in her new space made her feel like she could really get to work. Now if only she was so confident about being in front of all those kids…

Well, if I was you, Madam Rabid Mary-Sue Hater, I'd probably say "she isn't flawed enough". But being my own wise self I recognize that she'll probably look more balanced in "real life". What the hey, she's in. Although, is Emberlynn supposed to be 18? Cause 8 ) (no spaces) codes a smiley face. It took me forever to figure that out. LOL.

Well I'm SORRY. It's human nature to teach what we need to learn the most. And I'm still learning, though *twitch* Sara *twitch* was highly instrumental. I just don't want anyone else to look back and go WHAT WAS I THINKING??? like I do every time YOU MENTION IT. Though I admit I did this time....
And yes, Emberlynn is 18. Hee, you're right.
