Common Room, Friday
Gwendolyn sat at a small table in the corner of the Hufflepuff common room, several Transfiguration helps spread over it and a sheet of parchment before her.
She screwed her eyes tightly together and let out a sigh of exasperation. None of her subjects were easy, but Transfiguration positively gave her mental seizures.

Aiden walked through the doorway from the dorm just in time to hear Gwen's frustrated sigh. He walked up behind her and leaned over her shoulder, "You okay?"

Startled, Gwen jumped, slapping Aiden in the mouth with her quill.
"Sorry," she said, sat back down, and sighed. "I guess I'm okay. You?"

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. I'm fine...Transfiguration?" He stepped around the table and placed himself a chair. "I can help you if you need it..."

"That's the problem," Gwen said with a bit of a wail. "I have no idea."

Aiden grinned ruefully, "You wanna know what I did?"
Gwen nodded and Aiden picked up her Transfig book. He closed it and randomly opened it in two places. "There's 'Getting your creature to hold still so you can transfigure it' and...'Transfiguring your own body parts into normally inanimate objects'. Hey, the objects one mentions a few notable researchers. If they're anything like the rest of the researchers on the planet they wrote books - which will be in the library. And they probably used really long - and therefore wonderfully quotable - sentences. Shall we check the library? If nothing else the walk there will help you clear your head."

"Great idea." Gwendolyn pushed her book away with a relieved air. "Let's go, then."

Skilmer flopped into a chair near the side of the common room and stared thoughtfully out the window. He was trying to work out the justice of having House points lost for Hufflepuff when he'd just been escorting Loral back to the castle--after she'd just finished picking on him.
