Common room 4th day
Mari walked into the common room after Care of Magical creatures with Ali on her heels.

They walked over to the fireplace and sat down in two big chairs that were facing eachother. A minute later Mari's owl Flit swooped into the room through the open window and crashed head first into Mari's chair.

"Looks like Flit has the same coordination as you Mari," Ali said laughing.

"Ha ha," Mari said sarcastically. "Why can't you bring letters with all the other owls?" When she finished untying the letter from Flit's foot she opened it up. "It's from...uhh..." Mari turned the letter sideways, and then upside down, "Tasha," She said smiling.

"She still can't write completely straight?" Ali asked leaning over to look at the letter.

"Yeah, see? I'm not the only one in my family without coordination!"

"Uhh, Mari? Are you comparing yourself to your 4 year old sister?" Ali smirked.

"Nah, I was just kidding. Lets see," She sai turning back to the letter. "It says:

I hop you are having fun at hogwerts with yuor freinds. I luve you. Oh. Mom and Dad did nut help me weth this note.

"Aww, that's so cute!" Ali said. "Wish I had a cute little sister."

"Ha ha, yeah. She has her cute moments, but she has her devilish moments too."

"Well, she's just at that age. Cute, but deadly," Ali said laughing. "Still though, she wrote you a letter, and that's cute."

"True, and," Mari held up the letter, "She did it without help," she said pointing to the words in the letter.

"Good thing she said that. I was wondering about how good your parents spelling was. Se did pretty well for her age though."

"Yeah, she did," Mari agreed. "Wanna write one back with me?"

"Sure."

Ginger came into the dorm and sat down wearily. Homework, homework, homework. Favorite thing to do. She reluctantly pulled out several books from the bag she'd dropped on the floor and started working.

Lily hurried over to Ginger, her usual air of assurance gone.

"What are we going to do?" Lily asked in a tense, quiet voice without preamble as she sat next to Ginger. Ginger looked up, startled.

"Hm?"

"Abput the toilet seat," Lily clarified. "I'm at a loss."

Quite happy to set her books down, Ginger sat up straighter. "Well, first of all, we may want to move into more private quarters. Toilet seats are not the normal subject of conversation...and I wouldn't want this to get around. You neither." She glanced nervously at the other students in the common room. "Or, if there are people in the girl's dorm, we could try the bathroom." It struck her then the irony of the last comment, and before Lily could answer, she said as she stood up and headed for the stairs, "You've been brooding on this all day? No, no, I don't blame you; I was thinking about it too."

"Actually, no," Lily said. "I forgot about it all day-- until I went to get something out my trunk and nearly had my hand chewed off by a claustrophobic toilet seat. Those things tend to remind you." She sighed. "I'm going to speak to Potter about it, but I thought I'd talk to you first. You're welcome to come along if you want, as evidence. You were most...er...affected by the replacement."

Ginger stopped on her way to the stairs. "Whatever you want," said Ginger eagerly, always ready to please Lily. "I was about to put off my homework anyway. But," Ginger became uncomfortable, "you don't think he'd use the opportunity to--you know, laugh about it." She turned back around toward Lily and asked, "Should we go through it now, or on our way?"

"I mean," she added hastily, "should we figure out what to do now, or as we go?"

"Let's just go," Lily said, adding quickly -- "That is, after we gather the evidence. I wonder, could you burn a toilet seat?"

Without waiting for an answer, Lily nipped into the common room, released Spike from the trunk, put a Full Body-Bind on the toilet seat, and tucked it as best she could under her robes.

"It's quite a bulge," she admitted quietly to Ginger as they exited the Common Room. "Let's go-- as Head Girl I know the common room passwords...I never wanted to use them, but I guess we'll have to. If anyone asks, I'm bringing you along for evidence." She sighed. "But I hope we don't run into anyone who would need telling."

OOC:
I'm starting a new thread in the "Halls" forum for them to walk to the other common room.
