Lance Armstrong vs. Barry Bonds
Someone on ESPN brought up a good point that got me thinking. Why is it America is willing to give Lance a pass on roids when he has mountains of more evidence against him? Yet we fry Bonds publicly with our "common sense" of knowing he has used.
Now I know Barry is a A-hole and Lance is not. But putting that aside I am just curious as to why this is. Don't get me wrong now I know Barry is a product of roids. I dont have to see my @#%$ to know I have one, just like I dont have to see the needle in Barry's arm to know he is on roids.

Because people WANT to beleive Lance and people WANT to see Barry Fall, as a black man In not even trying to play the race card here. "No one" "likes" Barry and "everyone" "Loves" Lance's Sherryl Crow banging bike riding ass. Another intresting point in all this is how Giambi got off nearly scott free with similar kinds of evidence if not stronger than Barrys (admitted behind closed doors) in all this (if you think about how they are NAILING Raffy to the wall he got away).
How ever you cut it ... if the media is on your side you dont have far to fall no matter what you did. I will say in Lances defense that the french DEFENITELY have it out for him on this one and digging up a cup full of "whizz" from 7 years ago is pretty much grasping at straws at this point. No to mention the names on those samples are supposed to be confedential. so there is even more BS to sort through on that one.

Giambi and Palmero
Oh yeah I forgot about the blue diamond...Palmero. He can say "period" all he wants, he will never be anything more than a FAKE. I think Robinson had it right when he said anyone caught using roids should have all there stats completely wiped. Don't put it on baseball to decide when the cheater started shooting up, just take all there stats away.
You cheat, you get caught, you LOSE all your stats. Guarantee you everyone would stop then. But you have to ask yourself, why is it all the sudden Barry cant get healthy? Granted we dont have "official" proof yet, but all signs point to roids.
As far as race being a issue, I think its more of Barry being a A-hole than him being black. I mean after all, Barry is about as black as OJ. True the media can never be trusted to tell the WHOLE story, but that number 9 batting helmet tells me all I need to know...LOL.

i think the difference is, is that lance has been tested, and tested, and tested, and tested, and...you get the point. and has never failed a drug test. he's the most tested man on the cycling circuit.
bonds on the other hand, has never been tested, but has admitted to taking steriods, eventhough he "didn't know what he was taking".
the difference between players like bonds, and giambi, palmero, mcguire, sosa, even canseco, is that bonds is supposed to be the best this game has ever seen. the others haven't gotten a free pass, they just aren't as good as barry.
imo, it isn't a race issue. the media doesn't like bonds because he is a first class @$$hole. but the media isn't too keen on pete rose either, for pretty much the same reason. there are heros and there are villians. barry is a villian. i hated him, even when i had to cheer for him while a member of my pirates.
back to armstrong, there is a little political nature to this as well. the french hate us. an american is kicking their ass in their sport and they can't stand it. if lance were german, or spanish, probably no problem. if it was the tour de italy, or poland, probably no problem. but it eats at those frog bastards so they conjure up some piss from the 90's and that's their proof? please.
one final thing between lance armstrong and barry bonds. if armstrong is getting a "free pass" it has more to do with the fact that his sport is cycling. i mean, will anyone care who wins next year? did anyone care 8 years ago? baseball is our game. it's our national pastime and we don't want to see people cheat. especially the best of all time.
whew! i worked up an appetite now.

Not sure -- the sport certainly has a history and Lance's association with that Dr doesn't help. On the other hand, the L'Équipe isn't unbiased, who gets access to samples from '99 and what's been done to them, and maybe the test isn't all its cracked up to be:
