On the way to History of Magic
Thomas and Kenneth sped along the hall from the lower dungeon to the musty classroom in which History of Magic was taught.
"The new teacher's good," Thomas observed. "What do you think?"

Thomas groaned. "Yeah, that was where I got off liking her," he said. "What do you think? Is she an airhead, a spy for You-Know-Who, or a graduate of Slytherin? Or -" he paused for dramatic effect - "Is she just one of those generally nice people? Not likely."

Kenneth gave Tom a mock-scornful look. "And why couldn't she be simply a generally nice person? You're so critical!" He grinned. "I wonder if she IS a Slytherin graduate...it'd be interesting to find out."

"Not critical," Thomas corrected with a grin, "cynical. But I suppose you're right - she could be truly, sickeningly good. Or she could be mostly good with a weakness for greasy Slytherins."

"Maybe he's anti-soap," Thomas said seriously. "You know, Ken, you ought to respect people's beliefs. Maybe he's part of some huge cultish organization that doesn't believe in shampoo." After a moment more of solemnity, he laughed - it was too ridiculous not to.
