Why do you think you are the right person to roleplay them? Because I'm beautiful, popular, and a world-renowned cheerleader. Oh, you mean for REAL? Because I'm fascinated to do some serious Peter character-exploration...and because he needs to stand up for himself.

~During the Summer~
It was a hot day - altogether too hot, in his opinion. The sort of muggy, humid day where no one even felt like going outside, even if it was nearly as hot in the house as out of it. It was on this sort of day that Peter generally locked his door, pulled out the enchanted fan that his mum had given him for his sixteenth birthday, and saw to his letters.
There was a small pile of them waiting for him at his desk. He hadn't had time to read his mail lately, as his family had taken a surprise four-day vacation and it had taken his friends' owls until the last day of his stay to find him there. Now, with nothing else to do, he decided to catch up on lost time.
The first letter was from James and Sirius. This was no surprise; the pair were prolific correspondants and loved to send heaps of mail to nearly everyone they new. Of course, they took as much gleeful delight from the somewhat unpleasant surprises often within the letters as the letters themselves.
Keeping this in mind, Peter warily shook the folded-up parchment before slowly breaking the seal and - even more slowly - opening the letter. He let out his unconsciously-held breath in a sigh of relief as the letter turned out to be of the most ordinary variety, with nothing to jump at him and claw at his face (as it had last time) or make his bedroom smell like a swamp for three weeks (as it had the time before that). This letter was short, and he could almost imagine his friends' delighted cackles as they wrote it.
Dear Wormtail,
Our newest friend sends his regards. Can't wait to see you on September the 1st, as there's a new addition to our little family circle. His name is Spike. He used to live on the downstairs toilet, but Padfoot and I replaced him and gave him lodging underneath my bed. He's very friendly - he barks, wags his backside (he used to have a tail, but the porcelain broke) and makes a nice pet. We're sure it will spice up the student life this year, eh, Wormtail?
Well, we'll be seeing you before long. Don't get too boring, shut away in that old house. Write to us lots.

Peter laughed and hunted up a small scrap of parchment from the much-crowded region of the desktop.
P&P (he wrote) -
Have fun with the toilet seat. How are you going to sneak it past Evans?

The next was an issue of the Daily Prophet, which had once more been delivered to his bedroom instead of the downstairs kitchen as it was supposed to be. He set it aside to take downstairs first thing. The third letter he put aside for later; it was a letter from Remus, and looked to be long, the sort of letter that was wonderful to receive but always seemed to be best read later.
With a sigh, Peter attached the short reply to James and Sirius' letter to the owl and shooed it out the window before grabbing the Prophet and heading downstairs.
