Gwendolyn James, closely followed by Aiden Jeffreys, tumbled into the library and toward the small section labeled "Transfiguration Helps".
"Right," Gwen said, her face puckering in dismay as she viewed the assortment of texts. "So, where in here do we find information on - er - Transfiguring parts of your body?"

"Into things that don't normally move, yes." Aiden pulled the textbook from under his arm and opened it, "It mentions a Victoria Sititude, a Carlton Essavan, and an - " Aiden looked at it twice just to be sure, "E. Sol Byrant-Isotaria. You see anything by any of them?"

"Ummmm." Gwen absentmindedly began to chew a misplaced strand of hair as she scanned the shelf. "What was that second one? Carlton somebody?" She pointed. "How does that look - Self-Transfiguration On Advanced Levels?"
"Looks right," Aiden agreed. Gwen took the (very heavy) book down, groaning.
"Even the name is heavy," she said. "Right. Where from here, Oh Wise One?"

"Start summarizing. Here - oof! - there's another copy, I'll take notes too. I'm thinking like, difficulty, common things to change into, leading researchers - just basically follow the outline in the book. It's such a short chapter though that there's no way you'd have enough info without this Essavan person's book. Shouldn't be too hard. How long is it supposed to be again?"

Aiden screwed his eyes shut. "Ummmm....yeah, I think so." He glanced at his watch, "Let's get cracking." Gwen nodded and glumly began reading.
"So..." Aiden's quill scratched against the parchment. "Just out of curiousity, what are you going to do while I'm at Quidditch practices?"

"Quidditch practices," Aiden repeated. "What're you going to do?"
Gwen shot him a sideways look. "Strange as it may seem, I do have other friends," she said lightly. "I'm sure I'll find some way to console myself."

"I didn't mean it like that," Aiden frowned. "I was just thinking about Quidditch, that's all, since it's kind of a big deal for me, it being my first year being on the team and all. Just trying to be conversational."
Even if he had really wanted her to say she'd come and watch.

Uh oh. She thinks it's weird. "Oh...um...yeah. Right here it talks about ancient wizard-warriors changing their arms into swords." Aiden skimmed over it, "It says it wasn't a very popular method because it was a pain in the neck to change it back every time you wanted to do anything you needed a normal arm for. Is that helpful at all?" Aiden shifted the book Gwen's way.
