Begin to wrap it up, folks ;)
Kettleburn cleared his throat loudly. "I believe everyone has had a chance to see the unicorns up close. Please gather your things and head back to the castle. Homework is to read the three chapters devoted to unicorns in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; also, I will expect a twelve-inch essay next class on your choice of topics: unicorns' native habitats, the history of unicorns, or the valuability of unicorns as they relate to wizards.
"If you did not get a chance to pet the unicorns and wish to do so, you may remain behind for a few minutes." He smiled at the class, most of whom who hung poised, waiting for his word of dismissal. "You may go."

Sirius also shook his head in turn and stood. He walked over to the Marauders and gave them a loftly, satisfied look. "Ah, yes, I am the one and only Sirius black, ladies' man extrordinare. I can woo any girl in Hogwarts or out of it." He turned and glanced at Marti's retreating form, and looked back to his friends with a wry grin, "But Marti's not a girl, she's an iceberg!"
James laughed outright at this unexpected turn. "Can't do it then, can you, Sirius?" He shook his head. "I knew you couldn't. You're not up to the challenge."
Sirius made an affronted noise, "Challenge? Impossibility, you mean! The girl has no feelings. I'm telling you, she's a rock. I swear, I threw everything I had at her and she just glared." He glanced behind him again and lowered his voice, "After this, I'm not even sure where her - you know - preferences lie."
James rolled his eyes, "Now I know you're just wimping out, if you're driven to saying something like that. I bet you're scared to try. Scared you'll find out you can't manage it. Deciding to back out at the beginning while your pride won't take much damage. Makes sense really...since you're scared."
"I am NOT scared. Of a girl? Ha!" He shrugged, "I just don't see the point of taking it any further, that's all. She's going to get annoyed, I'm going to get a load of rubbish about it from you all. Why bother? It's a rather stupid dare anyway."
"Hmph. You really can't do it, can you? For all your cockiness and swooning masses at your tail, you can't manage one girl. Maybe that's the problem, it's only one instead of one hundred." James shrugged and shook his head, "Well, whatever, it's your rep on the line, not mine. Wonder who the title of Hogwarts Lady Killer falls on now."
"Certainly not you," Sirius said sulkily. "C'mon, let's go."

"Isn't life dramatic?" asked Carmondy simply, with a bit of a dream-like sigh, "Just look at Sirius and Marti--it's better than a soap opera. Extremely juicy, isn't it, Rose dearest?"

"Oh, paleeze" said Rose. "I'm going to go look at that unicorn, Care to join me?" without waiting for a reply, she turned and started off for the unicorn. bookworm
Staying behind
Ginger hung back to touch the unicorn one more time. Golly...if there are creatures like this in the Forbidden Forest, it'd almost be worth it going in there. Oh, but it was SO beautiful! She went over and touched the foal once, before reluctantly heading inside with the others.

"Speaking of which..." replied Carmondy lowering her voice, "We really need to get a move on that. I have a few ideas, but there are a few problems that go along with them...."

well...
"Was it ever otherwise, with any of your plans?" Rose said, forgetting the unicorn for a moment. "I can remember your plan last year, and it had more than a few problems...and you weren't the only one in detention." She wasn't accusing, from looking at her you would have thought she was reminiscing about a day at the beach.

Carmondy grinned, "Oh YEAH...I'd forgotten about the hair dye accident....." she sighed, "That was so fun. Except detention of course--but I have to give you guys credit for sticking through it with me."
