are we still in business?
Maybe we never were in bidness. This is how a station, that gives a crap 'bout how the audience feels, conducts itself.
------------------------------------------------------
As you may have heard by now, 96rock is no longer an affiliate of the John
Boy and Billy Big Show.
One year ago, when John Boy and Billy became unexpectedly available in the
Triangle, we decided to put it on based on a strong historical track
record of success in this market.
Over the course of the past year, for a number of reasons, it became clear
that the show was not connecting with the vast majority of our audience.
I received countless e-mails and spoke to many of you at 96rock events and
the feedback was overwhelming...The John Boy and Billy Big Show simply
doesn't match the 96rock brand in 2005.
The 96rock Voice Guy is now hosting mornings with a blend of lots of rock,
plus a newscast at the top of every hour, weather four times an hour,
traffic reports three times an hour, sports reports twice an hour, and a
comedy short once an hour. Ali Davidson now starts your workday an hour
earlier, at 9am.
We are conducting a search for a live and local morning show, and I expect
it to take a while. Your feedback over the past year has been extremely
helpful in guiding the expanded music variety, all the free concerts and
promotions we do, and certainly your expectations in mornings....so we
want to get it right.
Tell me what you want from your 96rock mornings. You've got a blank
slate, so just let er rip. What would get you excited about morning radio
and inspire you to listen more often? Don't worry about what someone else
would want to hear - just write down what kind of show you'd program if
you had one all to yourself. Feel free to be as detailed as you wish.
My personal e-mail address is 96rockboss@curtismedia.com and you're always
welcome to drop me a line. Thanks so much for listening to 96rock.

Rock stations have plenty of comp. What does 850 have?
Oh by the way, 96 is a sports station. They are at the Canes, Da Bulls (maybe Mudcats too)... in additon to Walnut Crk... Have never seen them in the ACC. Maybe 'the powers that be' charge them more than AM stations.
850 changed to Fox & to blog. Where was our comforting e-mail.
